They wouldn't put the system there if they didn't want it to perform well. Cars have performed well enough for street driving for years without such a system. But Nissan saw that it was worth it to put the system on anyway, despite the cost. They would not have done so if there wasn't a substantial performance advantage.
I think a pro who is used to working with the system will beat a pro working without it on a track any day. If you've watched the video that explains how it works you'd see that.
